Coagulation Specialist

        Thomas G. Hirose M.D., is a coagulation specialist and serves as the Medical Director for the Laguna Hills Anticoagulation Clinic, Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center. (formally Laguna Hills Coumdin® Clinic.)  He is considered a regional and national expert concerning bleeding and clotting disorders including the appropriate use of Coumadin®, Pradaxa®, Xarelto®, and Eliquis®  for the treatment of atrial fibrillation and deep vein thrombosis. 

         Dr. Hiose completed his Transfusion Medicine Fellowship & Board Certificaiton at Harvard Medical School- New England Deaconess Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts during which he provided coagulation consultation for the Liver Transplantation & Open Heart Surgery programs. 

He completed his Internship in General Surgery University California Irvine Medical Center, Residency in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and has worked as an emergency room physician.  

Dr. Hirose actively participates in the training of residents and fellows at Harbor- UCLA Medical Center.  His academic interest includes umbilical cord stems cells collection cryopreservation, as well as the clinical treatment of hypercholesterolemia utilizing LDL apheresis technology.
